The Air Jordan XXI 21 (white / varsity red / silver) were released on February 18, 2006, and retailed for $175. They feature an all white leather upper with black and red accents. One of the most noticeable features in the black portion on the sides which feature a mesh construction, providing plenty of ventilation for the bearer’s foot. The Air Jordan 21 (XXI) was designed by D Wayne Edwards and is modeled after the Bentley Continental GT coupe. There is some resemblance to the car, presumably the carmatrix front grill and the front of the shoe. Forefoot breathability features are combined with a newly engineered durable textile for support and durability in key performance areas.
