On May 3, 2003, the Air Jordan 8 Retro (black / chrome) with black and chrome colorway were released. During the original release of the Air Jordan 8 (VIII), it was one of the most advanced shoes on the market, and in terms of Air Jordans, surpassing the Air Jordan 9 (IX), and Air Jordan 10 (X) . They feature a black durabuck upper with brey and white accents, which can be seen on the infamous logo on the tongue, as well as the heel of the shoe, with the flowing streaks. The midsole features a dark grey color scheme, which does stand out from the black base.
